EQUITYSPORT JOINS THE WILD DOGS PACK
The international equality-in-sport charity, equitysport, is delighted to announce that it has entered into a multi-faceted partnership with the highly acclaimed rugby team, the Wild Dogs.

Founded in 2017 in order to represent South Africa in the final leg of the European Beach Rugby Series in Lignano Sabbiadoro, Italy, the Wild Dogs have since grown into a distinctive and decorated 7’s, 10’s and beach rugby team.
Whilst the original Wild Dogs was formed of players with roots in various parts of Southern Africa, today, the team fields both men’s and women’s teams, with representation from 17 different countries, including the Home Nations. The Wild Dogs compete all over the world, including at the infamous Cape Town 10s and the Dubai Sevens tournaments each season.
As part of the partnership, the newly formed Wild Dogs women’s rugby sevens team will feature the equitysport logo prominently on their playing kit as they compete across the rugby sevens circuit, including at the world’s largest sport and music festival, the Bournemouth Sevens Festival and the multi-sport Summer Social in London.

The partnership will see a number of collaborations and activation's in the coming months with a view to harness collective influence, promote inclusive and equitable sport, raise awareness of the charity and its work and to celebrate the Wild Dogs, an organisation that lives true to its values in all that it does.
Robbie Burroughs, Wild Dogs Co-Founder said of the partnership:
”The Wild Dogs are super proud to be partnering up with equitysport!
This fantastic charity exists to advance equality, promote diversity and extend equal opportunities in and through global sport and we are incredibly happy to be a small part in their journey.
Our newly formed ladies team have been proudly donning the equitysport logo on their jerseys for the last two tournaments where they have done incredibly well. This weekend will be a first seeing two Wild Dogs Ladies teams taking part in the Summer Social tournament in London, but also very excitingly we get to welcome Garnet Mackinder, a trustee for equitysport, and someone who I have known for many many years, to the Wild Dogs Pack as she will be be playing with our Ladies Alpha Pack this weekend.
From all of us at the Wild Dogs, welcome to the Pack family! ”
Tim Harper, equitysport Executive Director added:
“All of us at equitysport are both delighted and proud to be joining this particular pack of Wild Dogs!
The Wild Dogs represent everything good about sport - a family of multinational players who want to spread their love of sport and build a truly global community through their actions on and off the pitch.
The Wild Dogs women’s team had their first tournament down in the Isle of Wight recently. I knew we were amongst friends, when, for their first game the Wild Dogs men’s team formed an impromptu guard of honour and clapped their female team-mates onto the pitch. It was a little thing, but it was symptomatic of a group of people quietly walking the walk when it comes to equality in sport. That’s what we’re all about at equitysport, finding ways to catch a glimpse of a future rooted in equal status, equitable treatment and equal opportunity for everyone in sport.
My heartfelt thanks must go to Robbie, and to Jarred, who couldn’t have been more supportive of making this partnership work! All of us at equitysport are excited to be working with you both and to turn this into something really special for both organisations.”
