GARNET MACKINDER REAPPOINTED TO THE BOARD AND THANK YOU SARAH VALENTINE-BULL
The international equality-in-sport charity, equitysport, are delighted to announce that Garnet Mackinder has been reappointed to the equitysport Board of Trustees for a second term. This past week, we have also bid a fond farewell to outgoing treasurer, Sarah Valentine-Bull, whose trusteeship comes to a close after two years.

Garnet, who until last month balanced her varied professional commitments with a career as a Premier 15’s rugby player for recent league finalists, Exeter Chiefs, is the Head of Equality at Sport England and is a member of the Rugby Football Union (RFU) Council. Over the course of her first term, Garnet has been a key member of the tight-knit team at equitysport who confronted the unprecedented challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic head on and put the charity in the best possible position to deliver on its mission now that the worst of the pandemic is, hopefully, behind us.
Following two years in post, we bid farewell to our treasurer, Sarah Valentine-Bull, who leaves the board to focus on her highly successful consultancy business. Sarah has been with the charity from the start, working to lay the foundations of financial governance and process that will hold the charity in good stead long into the future.
Tim Harper, Executive Director at equitysport commented on the news:
“Sarah should be very proud of her committed service to equitysport over the course of her two year trusteeship. Against the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic, she has been instrumental in helping the charity, and indeed myself, navigate unprecedented challenges whilst laying the groundwork for future progress. Sarah leaves us with the fondest of farewells, but not a goodbye, and we look forward to our paths crossing again in the future!
I am delighted that Garnet has been reappointed by her fellow trustees for another term on the board. From a personal perspective, I am excited to have the opportunity to continue to work with and learn from such an accomplished operator and kind person. The future of equitysport remains in good hands!”
