LMEQ JOINS EQUITYSPORT’S WALK FOR EQUALITY

Updated: Nov 13, 2020

The international equality in sport charity; equitysport are delighted to announce an official event partner in Littleton Manor Equestrian Centre for the upcoming 24STR8 fundraising event.

Following the recent unveiling of an equitysport jump at the premier equestrian training venue in the South East, Reigate-based Littleton Manor (LMEQ) have bolstered their support for a fairer, more inclusive sports world by making a significant donation and becoming the official event partner to 24STR8.

The 24 hour walk by equitysport Founder; Tim Harper will take place on 1st December 2020 to coincide with Giving Tuesday, an initiative launched in 2012 as ‘global day of giving’ following the mass sales of Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

After a hugely challenging year for the charity sector, equitysport hopes to raise as much money as possible via ‘24STR8’ for the charity’s programmes, which work to advance equality, diversity and equal opportunity in sport.

Matt Tarrant of LMEQ said of the partnership:

“With equestrian sports being the only Olympic sports where men and woman compete alongside each other on equal and level footing, equality in sport is a value that those at LMEQ have long held dear and sought to uphold.

We have been proud to support equitysport’s previous projects but in this most difficult of year’s for so many, LMEQ are proud to underline our support of equitysport’s drive, determination and commitment to levelling the playing field in all sports, whatever the inequality and support this essential goal to make the world a fairer place for all through sport”

Tim Harper, equitysport Founder and Chief Executive added:

“Kate and Matt at LMEQ have been longstanding supporters of the mission here at equitysport and to have their support as an event partner for the 24STR8 walk is both very exciting and hugely appreciated.

There are all sorts of misconceptions about equestrian sports from the wider sports community, but few sports have achieved nearly as much in realising true gender neutrality on and off the ‘field of play’. Whilst there is much work to do to improve access to the sport for the global masses, we feel privileged to call so many in the sport friends and supporters.

We hope that by forging unique partnerships like this, equitysport can continue to link traditionally disparate sporting communities, and showcase the overwhelming weight of support that exists in every corner of the sports world that wants to see a fairer, more inclusive sporting ecosystem.”
