NEW Mentorship Opportunity Open For Applications
Updated: Nov 13, 2020
Strength & Conditioning Coaches based in sub-Saharan Africa already working with athletes or teams are invited to apply for 12-months of mentoring support as part of the equitysport's leading mentorship programme.
CLOSING DATE FOR APPLICATIONS: 10 SEPTEMBER 2020
NUMBER OF MENTORSHIPS AVAILABLE: 1

Project Pollinate is the innovative mentorship programme from equitysport which has successfully mentored sports scientists, strength & conditioning coaches, technical coaches and sports medicine practitioners from low income countries to help build capacity in local workforces and break down knowledge silos in global sport.
Former mentees have enjoyed significant success following the 12-month programme, including two mentees securing roles with national teams.
The programme matches those aspiring to work in all levels of sport in low-income countries with highly experienced and accomplished mentors around the world.
Using our platform, ongoing support and remote and in-person training, mentor and mentee work together one-to-one for an initial 12 months to share new perspectives, develop their potential, build new skills and equip them with the tools to deliver transformational sports development initiatives in their locality.
equitysport also provides discretionary bursaries and grants to cover the costs of formal qualifications and training in subjects relating to their professional practice in order to equip them with the tools, and qualifications required to secure employment and effectively deliver services in traditionally under-served communities around the world.
THIS OPPORTUNITY IS NOT AN OFFER OF EMPLOYMENT.
DUE TO INCREASED MENTORING CAPACITY, WE ARE CURRENTLY SEEKING APPLICATIONS FROM STRENGTH & CONDITIONING COACHES BASED IN SUB-SAHARAN AFRICA WHO MEET THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS:
Candidates must be currently working or volunteering in a strength & conditioning role with a group of athletes, a team, club or sports federation (amateur or professional). Our placement programme is currently oversubscribed and so equitysport will not be able to assist with placing the mentee in this particular role.
Candidates must have access to the internet on, as a minimum, a weekly basis.
Candidates should have some prior education or training background in the field, even if on an informal basis.
Candidates should be interested in pursuing a career in strength & conditioning, sports science or a similar field.
