TAKE ACTION FOR EQUALITY: YOUR INVITATION

With 159 days left in 2022, the international equality-in-sport charity, equitysport, are inviting supporters, friends, donors and partners, new and old, to take action towards a brighter, fairer, and more equitable world in sport, through sport and because of sport.

Sport has a unique power and influence in our lives and in our societies. It maintains a hypnotic grip on the human spirit, no matter your gender, ethnicity, religion, or geography. For decades, if not centuries, sport has spoken of its universal language, its cut-through appeal to the young and old alike, and its non-partisan, progressive and inclusive values as evidence of its utility to wider society.

Yet, its true potential as a catalyst for transformational change, transnational unity, and transcultural solidarity outside the stadiums and beyond the tracks and pitches remains largely unrealised for the global masses.

For too many, in too many places around the world, sport remains inaccessible; its promises of equity and inclusion remain just promises, and its opportunities to break the cycles of disadvantage and exclusion lie forever just out of reach.

At equitysport, we believe the future will be defined by the quiet whisper of those who roll up their sleeves and take action to see sport live out its true value to society, it will belong not to those who roar aimlessly about sports inherent power for good, but to those who take action to actually deliver it.

We are only too aware that we are just one piece of a global jigsaw of change-makers, custodians and action-takers. As the saying goes, 'it takes a village', and we know that for us to continue to help make real change to the lived realities for some of the most under-served, disadvantaged and structurally excluded groups and communities in the world, we're going to need YOU.

OTHER WAYS TO TAKE ACTION

1. TELL ONE PERSON!!

One of the most powerful things you can do is simply tell one person about equitysport. With 24 weeks left of 2022, even if you were to tell just one person per week about our charity, and the work we're doing to bring about a fairer, more equitable sporting world, that's another 24 people who might too, roll up their sleeves, and help champion a future for sport that includes everyone.

Why not encourage them to also give us a follow on social media? We're most active on Twitter and Instagram - and remember, if you see something you like, be sure to like and share it so that more people can see and hear about our work to change global sport for the benefit of everyone!

2. JOIN SQUAD

SQUAD is a community of everyday people, just like you, who have committed to keeping global sport accessible to everyone by donating £3 per month. Our growing membership believe that no matter who you are, where you come from or what your background might be, everyone should have the same opportunities to access, participate and express their talents in and through sport. Join today for £3!

3. PUT AN EQUITYSPORT TIN ON YOUR COUNTER

Do you run a cafe, bar, stall or shop? Help your customers put their loose change to good use whilst helping raise awareness of the equitysport mission by placing one of our secure and super smart donation tins on your counter!

Reach out to us via hello@equitysport.org and we can arrange delivery and run through how we securely collect and process and acknowledge your amazing support!

5. REVERSE KIT SPONSORSHIP

Are you a sports team competing at any level of sport? Why not join the likes of the elite rugby sevens team, the Wild Dogs, and donate a sleeve, shorts or shirt sponsorship space on your kit to help raise awareness of your commitment to equality, diversity and equal opportunity in and through sport?

Whether you're a school, college, university, community, pub or elite sports team, get in touch via hello@equitysport.org and we can chat through how it might work your circumstances and how we are able to make it truly worthwhile investment for you and for the future of global sport!
